Actos and What it can do?

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents | Friday 20 January 2012 7:27 am

Let me have a break from all my shopping escapade and work that I am doing and tell you about Actos. A friend of mine discussed about cancer from actos and how it affected his patient.

Actos is a diabetic medicine that lowers down blood sugar levels but not everybody knows that patients who have been taking this medication can have higher risk of getting bladder cancer. Most affected patients seek help of dangerous drug lawyers in pursuing claims for Actos users who are now suffering from bladder cancer. I hope more and more diabetic patients will be aware of this.

My friend highly recommends people to research more on the medications they are taking before they take it. I guess that’s a very responsible thing to do.

Tips in Purchasing a Lightweight Luggage

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents | Thursday 15 December 2011 1:59 am

Aside from a gps trailer tracking that I want to purchase along with a lot of gadget stuff that we can use whenever we want to travel in a trailer van, I also want to purchase a lightweight luggage for me and my husband that we can also use during our short business trips by planes. Anyway, here are a few guidelines in purchasing a lightweight luggage:

  • Leather can have long life but we are talking about lightweight and leather is heavy. Choose nylon and some other variations similar to that to avoid too much weight.
  • Consider top and/or side handles; over-the-shoulder strap; backpack straps; built-in wheels, and slip back (a wide belt that allows a smaller bag to slip over the pull handle of a larger wheeled bag.) Most bags have a combination of these and will let you carry it easier.
  • I suggest you get a baggage wardrobe built with all the pieces are ideally lightweight, expandable and have wheels.

Great tips and I will definitely find the best lightweight luggage the next time I go shopping with all the other essentials for our road trips.

Small Business in Mind

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents,My Everyday Musings | Tuesday 13 December 2011 7:09 am

I am itching to start my own little boutique in the corner block near our home. Friends and my husband are supporting me to take the risk. As much as I want to put up a business, it might affect my freelance work and I am earning a lot from my job. But that doesn’t hinder me in searching for nice store fixtures if ever I will start my small business. I must admit, I had fun and was a little bit excited about all the reads I read online about it.

  • I need to think of the style that I want, the things I want to sell. I’m actually leaning more to vintage clothing and the classic basic clothing.
  • I saw some nice velvety black mannequins for sale and I am thinking of putting some in the boutique for a little more drama.
  • I want a very shabby chic little nook for those who wait for their companions who are trying clothes in the store.
  • I want to use interesting boutique clothing racks, some really nice window displays and maybe put some art.

But I discovered that I will be needing more stuff than these and I think, I’m not too ready to be into a small business that will take so much of my time. I’m afraid that I will have no family time at all because of this if ever I still want to continue my freelance job on the side.

    My Job is L-O-V-E

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents | Wednesday 14 September 2011 8:38 pm

It has never occurred to me that I will be in this profession and I am thankful that I chose this career. Some of my friends are searching their Legacy System Operator Jobs to get on the top, others are in the medical field and some are employed in a more complicated corporate career but I chose to be a freelancer because I don’t want the pressure of searching the ideal work for me and working my way up to the corporate ladder of success. I guess you can say, that amongst my friends, I am the simplest. Ever since I was in college, I knew that my first priority is to have my own family and when I met my husband, I knew that he will be the one. I am not saying that he should just be the provider because I still chose to have my own career but at least the time I have is enough to attend to my career and my family, which is very ideal to me. I have nothing against friends who chose to have an 8-5 jobs but it is also not a secret that I love my job! :)

    Searching for Jobs

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents | Monday 5 September 2011 2:15 am

It has been a struggle for a friend of mine who’s been looking for Anesthesiologist Jobs because of retrenchment. People thought that, “Oh it’s a medical profession, you will never run out of jobs available!”, but sadly, my friend has been moonlighting and it is not easy. He doesn’t not have a regular paycheck and it’s just a blessing that he has a small business with some of his friends in New York and he doesn’t need to manage and be into the business 24/7, all he has to do is invest on it which is quite profitable and his wife helps too with her glamorous job as a writer and consultant, they are still living comfortably. But what about these professionals or even those with blue collar jobs who can’t find anything to help them support their families? I wish the government will do something about this. This is so sad, but true.

    Medical Case

    Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI,My 2 Cents | Monday 15 August 2011 9:01 pm

I have no knowledge when it comes to medical field so when a friend who is a nurse told me about a medical case she is dealing with right now, I asked so much questions to her. The baby has cleft palate due to the medications that her mother took while she was still pregnant. I believe the medicine is called Topamax, an anti-convulsant that is also prescribed for migraine headaches and since the lady got used to taking it with her migraines, she took several of it without knowing the effects of that medication to her child. Now they are seeking help from an Austin personal injury attorney to help them with the legal actions they need. Good thing they knew a law firm that can help them with all the necessary stuff because if not, things will be harder. Pregnant women should be aware and consult their doctors before taking anything. Network Monitoring Tools

    Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI,My 2 Cents | Tuesday 5 July 2011 4:04 am

So what is network monitoring? It refers to the a task of overseeing the operation of a computer network and to monitor their network, an IT staff will have to use appropriate network monitoring tools to ensure quality monitoring. I definitely  believe that each office that has a network system should rely in the best network monitoring software there is in the market. Any problem in the network can affect even the simplest thing like Email and routers. It will diagnose the problem right away and will prevent any major problem that can affect the operation of the business. It will even give the staff extra time to attend to other office matter because some tools operate automatically.

With Logic Monitor any business like my husband’s can operate without any problem. Their WAN; E-mail servers, business applications, LAN infrastructure like switches, routers etc. will be monitored and business will run very smoothly and transactions will be a jiffy. They need window server monitoring round the clock to ensure free flowing operations even during night time when the office is closed. I heard about Logic Monitor and I am recommending this to my husband since I honestly think they need an upgrade on their tools. I certainly hope he visits the site since it is very much user friendly and informative.

    Meeting the New Boyfriend

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents | Wednesday 22 June 2011 6:36 am

My friend is not wasting any time because she will be introducing me this week to her new boyfriend, he is Korean, that’s all I know. So where did she meet the guy? Well, it’s from a free online dating that a colleague of hers told her because apparently that friend from work met this Australian guy from there. So what is my take? I actually don’t mind whether you met the love of your life online or in real life, I have no right to judge anybody, like they don’t have to judge the fact that I met my husband on a blind date. My friend is 36 and she has the right to meet people whatever way she wants, she’s an adult, as long as she knows what she is doing and she is being careful. Giving all the facts about you is not advisable especially if you only talked to the person a few times. I guess you have to meet that person personally first and then take it from there. I always tell her that sometimes that “click” online will not be the same when you meet the guy personally. Luckily, it is totally different with this Korean guy. She even went to Korea to meet his family. Wow! I think that is a big step!

    Business Talk from the Wife

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents,My Everyday Musings | Monday 23 May 2011 9:39 pm

I seldom talk about my husband’s business here. Basically because I really don’t know how his company works but I have to commend my husband for doing a great job. He started the business when he was still single, a fresh graduate with a little savings from his parents, my in laws saved some money in the bank for my husband to use after college. They actually promised him that for taking their advice to continue school and finish college, some of his friends took a 2-year course while my husband had to finish 4 years. Anyway, back to his business. He started from scratch, doing everything to make it prosper. Business Loans were actually a staple during his first years in the business, enabling him to concentrate more in running the business without the financial stress. It helped him came by from all the financial struggles that a new company was experiencing. Some of his staff left him while a few stayed and now hold notable positions in their successful company, he knew that without his loyal staff, he will not come to this point of his career. He received so many awards from various groups and I happen to attend most of them, listening to his speeches made me even more proud.

Today, his company is in a steady pace. Even with economic problems along the way, relying on loans once in awhile, obtaining relief in so many ways. Now, his company is moving upwards. He will be taking us to Hawaii soon to celebrate our son’s birthday and his latest award from a very popular business group in NYC. I am might proud, that’s all I can say.

    Future Ready

Posted by Coast Side Babe | My 2 Cents | Tuesday 10 May 2011 3:30 am

A few of my friends are not really insured, I think that is rare here in the States since insurance is pretty much everywhere and if you are not insured, you are in trouble. A lot of my friends, even myself trust Trustedquote.com life insurance and why did we knew about this company, a friend of ours is working there and she explained to us all the privileges the company can offer. I am considering of changing our plan but that has to wait until I can talk to one of their agents and discuss about each plan that I am currently looking at. I’m sure my husband will be very glad that I am looking into these stuff, nothing beats a wife who thinks of her family’s future, right?
