My Vanity Spot

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related,Home Shopping | Friday 3 February 2012 2:49 am

I don’t wear too much make up, I think I said that in one of my posts here already but I love buying make up because I always go to events with my husband and usually, I doll up myself when I have too and putting a vanity space for me is a must because I don’t want my stuff to be scattered everywhere, I’m OC like that! Anyway, My Vanity spot needs some redecorating and since I don’t think buying another vanity table is needed, I guess, changing the dressing table stool will be perfect to put a little touch of something prettier there. I want this…

Shabby Chic White

My vanity table is white and I think this will be a nice touch of color in the space. Not too dark brown but not too light, almost in the red tone which I think will be pretty if I put colorful baby colored flowers on the dresser and just make the space lively. My inspiration is this…

Really pretty right?

Revamping the Bar Section of the House

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping | Thursday 15 September 2011 9:46 pm

My husband and I love to remodel our home. We feel that after 5-7 years, the house should be revamped, if not just a simple repainting will do. Not to be so meticulous about it but we believe that it will also help the house to be maintained when it comes to structure. Most dilapidated homes are neglected, so we vow to maintain this apartment until such time that we have to sell it for a nicer home. So what are we remodeling today? Well, we are buying furniture like new bar stools and repainting the whole bar section. The husband is tasked for decisions like paint colors and design while of course, I am tasked for shopping for new items. I am so happy to find a site, Deals Direct, for I can browse their wild array of bar stools and other furniture items that I can buy for the bar. I am also looking at wines and some other alcohol drinks and I am putting those on the list but right now let me share to you what I am drooling from this awesome site…

Very masculine for the husband but I want to put a little color to make it contemporary…

If the husband approves, I want pink! But if not, I can go subtle with these…

White touch from the almost all black bar that he is designing.

Another Home Office Post

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping | Tuesday 16 August 2011 12:05 am

While I am on blogging mode, I will post about our home office again. My husband has been into the office’s power supplies because he thinks it needs more attention since we are remodeling the room a bit, he wants to put techie stuff in one corner of the room like the printer, fax machine, telephone, extra PC. I suggested that we call my interior designer friend who lives nearby, maybe we can get down to business and have a brainstorming with regards to the interior of that room, since I don’t want that space to be wasted with clutter. I am into professional help. I want to add a little sofa to make the room a bit homey, in case we want to read a book or our son would want to spend time with us in the office. Right now, he sits in the carpet when he stays there and I think his little office corner is a great idea too. Anyway, here are a few sofas I love over at Pottery Barn…

My Dream Garden Office

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping | Wednesday 18 May 2011 9:24 pm

Work has been taking a toll on all aspects of life, a lot of my friends can’t go on vacations and never spend time with their families on weekend because they need to go to the office to finish something. The very first reason why I opted to have a freelance job, to value my own time and make use of it as I want to use it while still earning. I find it a luxury that I am working at home as much as I can and then I can shop as much as I want without spending my own money, because I am doing it for clients but I think it will be more luxurious if I am in a garden office with greenery that I can look at when my eyes are already tired from the computer. Plus I can breath fresh air from the garden while working, plus birds can sing to me, I find it soothing to hear birds chirping especially in the morning when my online work is much busier. We are planning to buy a house in the suburbs and I am considering an office in the garden and as early as today, I am already looking for suppliers who can provide the best office garden that my husband and I can have.

At Atelier Zone, they understand the need of a home to have more divisions as our lifestyles become increasingly compartmentalized. Their designs are so modern and innovative that a house extension or a studio will never be left behind when it comes to blending in with the whole house. They create structures that are sustainable, elegant, chic, versatile, functional and future proofed. Using their state of the art tools, you can see the building of these structures right at your fingertips. They actually use Timber as their main material, it is very natural looking, very zen in style and has environmental benefits. You can choose from the array of sizes that they have to suit every home and style. They only have the best for every home and it will be worth every penny.

Look at the dream garden office I am foreseeing with the help of website I visited, it can be achieved, I know we can have this. I want a space of my own and the husband plus a small living room if ever guests or our son wants to join us there. And windows, I want big windows for ample lighting especially in the morning.

Redecorating with Travertine Tiles

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI,Home Shopping | Saturday 14 May 2011 3:13 am

Building a home is always stressful and hard, it takes money, time and most of all energy. I should know this because I had different experiences when we were redecorating some parts of our apartment and since we are planning to redecorate some spaces again soon, I am dreading the stress it will give me and my husband. For me the worst part is choosing the materials for the finishing touches. There are times that my husband and I couldn’t agree and there are times that we have a hard time finding a supplier who can provide the materials. Anyway, we are actually planning to redesign our bathroom and our fireplace and I am thinking of using travertine tiles for some finishing touches. I heard a lot of great stuff about it plus when we visited our friend’s home in New Jersey, I saw her patio, pool area and kitchen with accents of these tiles and I think her designer did a great job in using it so I searched online about these tiles. Travertine tiles are natural, stone tile that is made out of sedimentary rocks called travertine. More and more people are discovering travertine because unlike before that there are limited sources of manufacturers for travertine tiles, today, you can order it anywhere in the world.

At Stone Superstore there are various travertine tile pieces that you can choose from. With one of the biggest selections available online from light walnut to premium light ivory, you will definitely find something for your taste. I am also very much surprised with reasonable prices so I continued browsing at their website and found various types of tiles they offer, they also have limestone, granite and marble tiles. With their reputation of having superb customer service, I bet I will never have a headache upon ordering the materials because aside from the tiles, I can also order adhesive, grout and sealer. Their expert people can also help the customer decide on what color, finish or pattern to choose plus they give expert advice on how to take care of your tiles once they have been installed.

I’m very much excited in choosing travertine tiles in our project and with the guarantee of durability that it can last for years, I am sure it is the perfect tile for our bathroom and fireplace. With it’s versatility, I am sure we can achieve the modern and contemporary feel that we want for our redecoration. I’m very sure my husband will agree about choosing travertine and I bet this time it will be less stressful unlike before.

Remodeling the Bathroom

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping,My Everyday Musings | Thursday 5 May 2011 3:24 am

It was a long Monday this week, the start of the work week and it was a drag, considering that the weekend was so much fun! I was soaking in the tub the other night with some scented candles and bath salts and thought that it will be more relaxing if we remodel the bathroom and make it into a modern bath. I needed more techniques and powers to convince my husband to do so, we have enough savings but he wanted to have a grand remodeling which is removing the wall that separates the bathroom and our closet. I told him, repainting the closet is just enough but he wants a bigger closet so he is suggesting to just remove the wall which is a major thing. Oh well, I will still keep this design whenever he decides to remodel the bathroom, I am dreaming of a modern design close to this one…

Antique Feel for Our Bedroom

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping | Monday 7 March 2011 6:59 am

We have a canopy bed at home and I always feel that I am transported back in time whenever I lay in bed at night and with a little fabric during the winter, I feel so homey in a castle during medieval times, we also have a closet and a dresser in the bedroom and since I want to achieve an antique feel, I want to put some accessories in the dresser and closet and I found a very nice site that makes antique hardware reproductions and talk about the possibilities with our interior decorator. I found some wonderful pieces that I really love, I hope the husband approves.

Another Kitchen Find

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping | Monday 21 February 2011 2:24 am

As I was planning to do a little makeover with the kitchen tiles, I stumbled upon a site for kitchen faucet and I want an upgrade again. I tell you as long as I surf and surf the net for more kitchen ideas, I will see more stuff that I want to do with our kitchen, my husband will be furious. But I know since like me, he also loves to cook, he will be glad to have a new set of lovely metals in the kitchen. We’ve been living in this house for quite some time now and I know an upgrade will not be so bad at all considering that the kitchen was untouched ever since we moved in. Look at these lovelies…

Primping the Kitchen

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping | Sunday 20 February 2011 9:07 pm

I’m thinking of primping our kitchen a little bit to add color. Ours is so white that I want liven it up with a splash of color by the counter top and the sink. I’m thinking of putting colorful glass tiles on the wall by the sink or the stove and the change the color of the granite counter top. Everything is so white which I still love though it’s a bit hard to maintain. I asked my husband’s permission regarding the matter and he told me that he thinks the kitchen is really boring from the start and he thinks it’s a good idea to include a little bit of color in that part of the house. So I’m thinking of something similar to these tiles to put on the wall…

Area Rugs at Home

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Home Shopping | Sunday 6 February 2011 9:16 pm

Who doesn’t want a very beautiful home? I think that Area Rugs are very nice in a home to make it more personal, relaxed and beautiful. The space may look blunt but as soon as you put a very beautiful rug, you can instantly make the room more inviting. It makes a space more complete and welcoming and rugs at home can be very beneficial. One of the benefits and the major one for me is making a room more cozy and warm during the winter when the floor and the whole atmosphere of the room very cold and lifeless.

I particularly adore Persian Rugs, they are very unique in design and very elegant looking but this rugs sometimes chooses a place for you to put it on so I also am eyeing for some Discount Rugs that are contemporary in style so I can placed it on our more casual rooms like the family room and the office. I am just glad that at iRugs, I can order everything, a one stop shop for rugs that can beautify a boring home. They even have live chat for busy bees like me who wants answers right away. I am planning to redecorate the whole house and you bet, I will be dropping by at iRugs for more varieties to choose from!
