Medical Case

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI,My 2 Cents | Monday 15 August 2011 9:01 pm

I have no knowledge when it comes to medical field so when a friend who is a nurse told me about a medical case she is dealing with right now, I asked so much questions to her. The baby has cleft palate due to the medications that her mother took while she was still pregnant. I believe the medicine is called Topamax, an anti-convulsant that is also prescribed for migraine headaches and since the lady got used to taking it with her migraines, she took several of it without knowing the effects of that medication to her child. Now they are seeking help from an Austin personal injury attorney to help them with the legal actions they need. Good thing they knew a law firm that can help them with all the necessary stuff because if not, things will be harder. Pregnant women should be aware and consult their doctors before taking anything. Matters of His Business

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI,My Everyday Musings | Sunday 10 July 2011 11:09 am

He has been talking about a collection agency the other night and I am not really that familiar with it. I need to search about it right after our dinner conversation to better understand what he talked about. I always do this whenever there is something I don’t understand, I don’t ask, I research, I am happier to learn stuff by myself. Anyway so what is it about?

A collection agency is a business that pursues payments of debts owed by individuals or businesses. Most collection agencies operate as agents of creditors and collect debts for a fee or percentage of the total amount owed.

There are many types of collection agencies. First-party agencies are oftentimes subsidiaries of the original company the debt is owed to. Third-party agencies are separate companies contracted by a company to collect debts on their behalf for a fee. Debt buyers purchase the debt at a small fraction of its value, then attempt to collect it. The practices of collection agencies can be very aggressive; each country has its own rules and regulations regarding them.

That’s from Wikipedia by the way and I sure hope my husband doesn’t owe that much! Whew!

Laser Lipo: A Smarter Choice

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI | Friday 8 July 2011 9:57 pm

Obesity, a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems, has become very rampant in our society. Thanks to fastfood chains, unhealthy lifestyle and negligence, life expectancy became shorter. People should be more aware of eating more of vegetables, ideal protein, fruits but unfortunately, more and more people need help in losing weight to start anew and the old tradition of Liposuction can now be just an option. Let me take you to a little comparison:

Liposuction: uses a cannola to take out fats from problem spots of the body. It is very effective in removing lipid, but the downside are: It is a surgical procedure and many people are really scared of going under the knife and it is only great in removing the fats but doesn’t do any good in toning the body.

Laser Lipolysis: or laser lipo or commonly known as smart lipo melts away fats with a laser. There is no surgery involved and is a non invasive procedure. It shoots laser light to burn fats but the light will definitely not hurt your skin. Therefore, less discomfort, less bruising and definitely faster recovery.

We should just be aware of where to get our help. A lot of the so called centers claim that they are the experts. Even if Smart Lipo is a very safe procedure, we should also seek help to the professionals because this is still considered as a delicate procedure. and in Ideal Wellness and Weight Loss, losing weight will not be your problem, weight loss doctors will be on your side to assist you in your program, helping you not only through the laser lipo but also in dieting and changing your lifestyle.

Network Monitoring Tools

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI,My 2 Cents | Tuesday 5 July 2011 4:04 am

So what is network monitoring? It refers to the a task of overseeing the operation of a computer network and to monitor their network, an IT staff will have to use appropriate network monitoring tools to ensure quality monitoring. I definitely  believe that each office that has a network system should rely in the best network monitoring software there is in the market. Any problem in the network can affect even the simplest thing like Email and routers. It will diagnose the problem right away and will prevent any major problem that can affect the operation of the business. It will even give the staff extra time to attend to other office matter because some tools operate automatically.

With Logic Monitor any business like my husband’s can operate without any problem. Their WAN; E-mail servers, business applications, LAN infrastructure like switches, routers etc. will be monitored and business will run very smoothly and transactions will be a jiffy. They need window server monitoring round the clock to ensure free flowing operations even during night time when the office is closed. I heard about Logic Monitor and I am recommending this to my husband since I honestly think they need an upgrade on their tools. I certainly hope he visits the site since it is very much user friendly and informative.

Redecorating with Travertine Tiles

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI,Home Shopping | Saturday 14 May 2011 3:13 am

Building a home is always stressful and hard, it takes money, time and most of all energy. I should know this because I had different experiences when we were redecorating some parts of our apartment and since we are planning to redecorate some spaces again soon, I am dreading the stress it will give me and my husband. For me the worst part is choosing the materials for the finishing touches. There are times that my husband and I couldn’t agree and there are times that we have a hard time finding a supplier who can provide the materials. Anyway, we are actually planning to redesign our bathroom and our fireplace and I am thinking of using travertine tiles for some finishing touches. I heard a lot of great stuff about it plus when we visited our friend’s home in New Jersey, I saw her patio, pool area and kitchen with accents of these tiles and I think her designer did a great job in using it so I searched online about these tiles. Travertine tiles are natural, stone tile that is made out of sedimentary rocks called travertine. More and more people are discovering travertine because unlike before that there are limited sources of manufacturers for travertine tiles, today, you can order it anywhere in the world.

At Stone Superstore there are various travertine tile pieces that you can choose from. With one of the biggest selections available online from light walnut to premium light ivory, you will definitely find something for your taste. I am also very much surprised with reasonable prices so I continued browsing at their website and found various types of tiles they offer, they also have limestone, granite and marble tiles. With their reputation of having superb customer service, I bet I will never have a headache upon ordering the materials because aside from the tiles, I can also order adhesive, grout and sealer. Their expert people can also help the customer decide on what color, finish or pattern to choose plus they give expert advice on how to take care of your tiles once they have been installed.

I’m very much excited in choosing travertine tiles in our project and with the guarantee of durability that it can last for years, I am sure it is the perfect tile for our bathroom and fireplace. With it’s versatility, I am sure we can achieve the modern and contemporary feel that we want for our redecoration. I’m very sure my husband will agree about choosing travertine and I bet this time it will be less stressful unlike before.

Topamax Lawsuit

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI | Thursday 31 March 2011 11:06 pm

I’ve heard of this brand before from a friend who suffers from migraine attacks and so what is it really? What is Topamax before I start posting about the lawsuit?

Topamax is a brand name to Topiramate and the generic name is Topiragen. It is an anti-convulsant drug used to treat epileptic seizures.  It is also prescribed to help prevent migraine headaches, the reason why I heard about it from my friend but Topamax has it’s common side effects, slower reflexes, trouble thinking or concentrating, trouble thinking of the right word (and other speech problems), tiredness, poor coordination, and dizziness. Topamax can also result in cleft lip or cleft palate – birth defects that occur when the lip or palate fail to completely fuse together. The defect can result in a small, notched lip or in extreme cases, an open groove that extends from the roof of the mouth to the nose. These effects results to patients filling Topamax lawsuit because they are injured as the result of taking a medication. At O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath, our attorneys understand that your child’s injuries may not be your fault – instead, possibly a dangerous side effect of Topamax. Their expertise and reliable experience with regards to lawsuits like this will help any client claim what is due. After Giving Birth

Posted by Coast Side Babe | FYI | Monday 21 February 2011 1:08 am

If I can just turn back time, the only regret I had was that I didn’t try harder to breast fed my son.Thank God my son is a healthy boy today but I didn’t get the bond that most women say when breast feeding their child. I envy that a lot. A friend of mine is now thinking if she will breast feed her daughter or not, thank goodness she asked for my advice because I told her that she should and now she is looking for ways to increase breast milk because she can only feed her 2 ounces every pump but I told her that she should try and try until her milk should be enough for the baby girl. I gathered a few tips from my friends who beast fed their kids for my new mommy friend.

  • Start pumping with a good electric pump, both breasts simultaneously, every 3 hours in the daytime and every 4 hours at night.
  • Drink at least 64 ounces of electrolyte-containing beverages such as Gatorade, Propel or juices daily.
  • Avoid wearing underwire bras.
  • Try to nap for 1 hour every afternoon.
  • Warm your breasts with warm, moist compresses for 5 minutes before each pumping or breastfeeding session.
  • Put the baby to the breast several times per day and pump afterwards.
