To Moisturize the Body

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Tuesday 10 May 2011 11:14 pm

I have been experiencing dry skin because of the weather and my love for coffee. I know coffee when taken excessively can dry up your skin and since I am in so much stress lately plus so much work to do, I always have the need to drink coffee. Anyway, sleep is also one of the factors of dry skin and I lack of that too! Darn, this time management is driving me nuts. So a friend of mine recommended I use La Mer lotion and I think I will be trying this one…

Body Creme

Like a seaweed wrap in a jar, this luxurious moisturizing cream infuses dry skin with long-lasting hydration. Micro-Algae Complex attracts and captures moisture throughout the day. Blue Algae Life Ferment™ immediately restores clarity and works over time to diminish the appearance of minor discolorations and improve firmness and tone. Skin emerges supple, smooth and glowing.

As The Body Crème is massaged into the skin, circulation is improved. Skin’s look and feel take on a radiant new life. The Body Crème is so lastingly hydrating, daily use may be unnecessary.

Steps to Perfectly Clean Face

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Thursday 5 May 2011 1:56 am

I experienced nodular acne last week so I searched online of what to do and I was glad to see numerous solutions about it. I vowed to do the right thing when it comes to maintaining my perfect skin, fashion is part of my job and I will not represent myself properly to my clients if I have acne.

Perfectly Clean Face

In order to have flawless skin, you need to keep your face clean. Here are some Steps to Perfectly Clean Face:

1. Cleanse twice a day, no more. Unless you have exposed your skin to excessive dust, grime or pollution, twice-a-day cleansing is more than adequate for any skin type. Cleansing too often strips your skin of precious natural oils. Not cleansing regularly, particularly before you retire for the night, may lead to build-up and eruptions.

2. Choose a cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type. Do not use soap on facial skin: it can be too harsh and drying and damage skin over time. A too-rich cleanser can clog pores, while a too-dry cleanser can irritate the skin. A cleanser for dry skin should contain nourishing herbs and oils. One for oily skin should include herbs that balance oil production and support clarity. Sensitive skin benefits from an ultra-gentle, fragrance-free, non-irritating cleanser.

3. Always cleanse with tepid water. Hot water dries and damages skin over time, and cold water won’t dissolve and take away embedded dirt and grime as well as lukewarm water.

4. If you use sponges or washcloths, make sure they are clean and soft. They are not necessary for effective cleansing: your fingertips can do just as good a job.

5. Wash your hands thoroughly before you cleanse your face, or you will be working dirt into facial skin. Use a headband to secure hair away from the face.

6. Start by splashing tepid water on your face and neck.

7. Apply the cleanser with your fingertips or a soft sponge, using gentle circular massaging strokes and moving upward on the face and neck. Do not scrub too much…gentle massaging strokes are enough to help improve circulation as well as loosen grime and old surface skin cells. Too much scrubbing will stretch skin and irritate it, especially the delicate skin around the eyes.

8. Rinse with lots of tepid water. Don’t forget to rinse off cleanser from the neck and hairline. Cleanser residue can clog pores and attract dirt.

9. Gently blot off excess water with a soft towel. Do not scrub dry or drag towel along skin.

10. Follow immediately with a water-based toner and a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type to seal in surface moisture and offer nourishment when skin is receptive.

I learned my lesson, I will never sleep with any make up on! :D

Building Muscles

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Monday 2 May 2011 12:50 am

A friend of mine is going to the gym religiously since February. He is hoping to build more muscles and get rid of some of the bulges in his body. I certainly think he looks perfectly fine but his self consciousness has got him an almost 6 packs tummy this early. I guess the best creatine supplements he was raving about to me last March is actually true. So what is creatine?

Creatine is a organic acid, a nitrogenous actually that supplies the body the energy it needs primarily in the muscles. Supplements however are athletic aids used to increase high-intensity athletic performance and is usually called as performance enhancing supplement.

I am actually dreaming of trimming down my abdominal area and is considering of taking what my friend is taking, but when it comes to supplements I am a little bit skeptic so I will definitely review more about it so I can use it in no time.

Dark Circles Dilemma

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Monday 28 March 2011 1:50 am

I don’t have the excess baggage as some may call it, but when my eyes get tired sometimes I get the circles and I always ask, how to get rid of dark circles to my friends who has pretty looking eyes that I knew once had dark circles too. They always answer the same thing, to get enough rest. A friend also shared some natural remedies to get rid of the dark circles and I think I will try these…

  • Drink plenty of water to help circulation and removal of toxins – it is always good for the skin.
  • Drink a glass of chrysanthemum tea every day. This will clear up your eyes and skin.
  • Eat a lot of carrots. They are rich in beta carotene – excellent for the skin and eyes.
  • Eat fruits that are rich in Vitamin C, which can strengthen your blood vessels and clear up your skin.

Preventing Wrinkles

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Sunday 20 February 2011 8:36 pm

Who says we can stop old age? I have no worries of getting wrinkles but of course we must know how to prevent it and delaying it especially at this age of 33. I think, I am still young to get a few though I see some lines a little bit here and there already. Aside from using anti wrinkle cream there are tips my friend sent me via email and I want to share it here.

1. Drink Water: 6-8 glasses per day to keep the skin hydrated

2. Wear Sunscreen daily: moisturize daily with an SPF 15 or higher to protect the skin

3. Wear Protective Clothing: wide brimmed hats and sunglasses when in the sun to protect skin and eyes. Sunglasses will also reduce squinting that causes wrinkles.

4. Avoid sun: do not sunbathe, or if you must, then avoid exposure between 10am and 3pm

5. Avoid drastic weight change: losing too much weight too fast can result in sagging skin

6. Cleanse regularly: wash face twice a day, morning and evening to maintain healthy skin

7. Exercise Regularly: increases muscle tone and keeps the whole body healthy

8. Eat Healthy: especially foods high in anti-oxidants (see link below)

9. Take Vitamins: multi-vitamins, especially vitamins A, C and E

10. Limit Alcohol intake: alcohol can dehydrate the skin causing wrinkles

11. Avoid Smoking: besides being carcinogenic, smoking ages the skin prematurely

12. Sleep: Get plenty of rest and sleep on your back

Curly with Bangs for 2011

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Friday 18 February 2011 1:15 am

I am bored with my straight hair, I am thinking of making it fuller and I think the only way is for me to have it permed. I heard about digital perming and I am seriously considering it but I heard it needs so much of your time since it takes hours to do so I need to really squeeze it in my schedule.

Digital Perm:

Is a perm which uses hot rods with the temperature regulated by a machine, which has a digital display, hence the name. However, the process of the perm is quite analogous to that of a traditional perm. The name “Digital Perm” is also copyrighted by a Japanese company, PAIMORE Co., Ltd. Hairstylists usually call it a “hot perm”, but it is commonly known as a “digital perm”.A normal perm basically requires only the perm solution. A digital perm requires a (different) solution plus heat. This type of perm was developed in Korea, and now popular in both South Korea and Japan and other countries.

I heard that the trend this year is a slightly, digitally permed hair with straight bangs.

I think these are Korean Hairstyling and I actually love it!

Lip Trend for Spring 2011

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Thursday 10 February 2011 10:56 pm

I am not really particular with my lips. I admit, I get uncomfortable wearing lipstick or even lip gloss, I am more of an eye person, I guess somehow I think my eyes are my asset so I tend to neglect my lips but since I am not getting any younger and I think at this age I have developed my self confidence, I am willing to try and explore more on other stuff and the lipsticks are one of them. Anyway, here is the trend for Spring 2011 which is really coming soon. I might head to the nearest Sephora to grab a couple of nice products for me.

The spring season 2011 bold lips makeup trend is one of the easiest ways to update the style in the going season. In order to be able to rock this trend one should make shore that the shades choosed by her compliment with her. To avoid committing faux pas paying attention to skin tone while choosing the lip color is extremely important. It is recommended to choose different shades for each occasion since the skin tone will most likely change over the course of warmer months.

Make Up Trends 2011

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Wednesday 2 February 2011 3:44 pm

2011 is all about the eyes, considered to be the “gateway to the soul” as you can tell a lot of things just by looking into someone’s eyes.

Minimalism is the hottest thing when it comes to the new makeup trends. Natural beauty has no match so you really don’t have to go overboard when it comes to looking fabulous.

Minimal makeup is ageless and perfect for day wear as well as evening, meaning you’ll look fabulous from day to night, without having to change or redo your makeup. The most popular eye makeup colors used for this type of makeup are soft pink, baby blue, coral as well as beige, neutral and brown. Use a white eyeliner pencil on your waterline to make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Curl lashes and use one coat of mascara to define your eyelashes.

Posted by Coast Side Babe | Beauty Related | Wednesday 2 February 2011 1:18 pm

Back in the days without high technology, beauty can be very outdated, imagine the ladies back then strutting with unwanted hair? That can be very traumatic! Then shaving came but the disadvantage of that is the hair grows very coarse and unruly and then waxing was invented and until now, it is being used by so many women for their unwanted hair.
